"The Sound of Sleigh Bells" by Cindy Woodsmall

What a sweet Christmas love story!

Beth works alongside her Aunt Lizzy in a dry goods store and is a go between for the Amish craftsmen and the "Englischer" retailers.   Beth, who is normally a very outgoing person just hasn't been the same since the death of her fiance.  She seems to be in a state of depression which, instead of getting better, continues to get worse.   Aunt Lizzy has never had any children of her own.  Therefore, Beth is like a daughter to her.....a daughter that she is very worried about!
Aunt Lizzy takes matters into her own hands!  Beth responds to an Amishman's intricate woodcarvings which is the first reaction observed from her; negative or otherwise.   Letters between the two ensue and Beth feels herself responding to this unknown person. Will Jonah, the woodcarver, be able to reach Beth's frozen heart??
You will have to read the book to find out!
